construction method

The technology that will be used to construct the project is the most important consideration when creating a schedule. Consider the differences between a schedule of high-rise building built from the ground-up method and the schedule needed to build the central core of the building first and then “hang” the floors from the tope of the core down.

In mid-rise construction, consider the difference in construction processes between lift-slab construction and the use of standard shoring between floors. In residential construction, consider the difference in constructing underground cast-in-place concrete walls with re-usable forms vs. concrete forms that are not re-used. The selections of construction methods are what drives your first decisions with regard to project planning.

After covering the mechanics of the precedence diagramming methods, we will show how to include construction methods within your schedule.
